In the Future | Sunday Says
7:15 PM
Hey guys!
So it's been about a month since school has started, which means that I am already feeling extremely unmotivated. I hate feeling this way, yet every year it happens. I personally just think that the modern school system isn't well organised, and that students are forced to study things they're not interested in. I obviously understand why we need to know these subjects and stuff, but at the same time, I find it really hard to spend my free time studying things I have no interest in.
Just this afternoon, as I was studying science, a subject I really dislike and know for a fact that will not be part of my future career, I started wondering why. Why am I doing this? Why am I spending my free time reading about this? Because I have to? No. I'm 16 now, if I wanted to quit school, I could. So, why?
The main reason is probably that I know it will help me. I know that if I want to succeed in life I have to get a good education (I know this is not the case for everybody, but it is for most people). I have to spend, even 'waste' if you want, all these years studying things I don't care about, so that in the future I can do what I love.
When I was little my mom always used to tell me that works comes before play. Not necessarily because it's right, but just because of how the world works. If you want something, you have to work for it. I agree with that. You have to endure some bad things in order to reach the good ones, and along the way you're probably going to learn and see many amazing things, so you shouldn't even complain.
